Privacy policy
Framecap records your screen, camera and audio entirely on your own device. We don’t run servers that receive your recordings, and the extension makes no network requests.
What the extension accesses
- Screen, tab or window: only the surface you choose in Chrome’s sharing picker, and only while you are recording.
- Camera and microphone: only when you turn them on, after Chrome asks for your permission.
- Settings: your recording preferences are saved in Chrome’s local extension storage.
Where your recordings are stored
Recordings are saved in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) on your computer. They leave your device only when you download them yourself. Deleting a recording or uninstalling the extension removes it permanently.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect, transmit, sell or share personal data or recordings.
- We don’t use analytics, tracking or advertising.
- We don’t read the content of websites you visit.
