Terms of use

Last updated: 2026-10-16

These terms apply to the Framecap Chrome extension and this website. By installing or using Framecap, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Framecap.

Using Framecap

Framecap is free for personal and commercial use. You can record as much as you like and use your recordings however you want. You may not resell, repackage or publish Framecap itself as your own product, or change it to harm other people.

Your recordings

You own everything you record. Framecap stores recordings only on your computer and never sends them to us, so we can’t see, recover or delete them for you. Download the recordings you want to keep. Uninstalling Framecap or clearing your browser data deletes the recordings saved inside Chrome.

Record responsibly

You are responsible for what you record and share. Follow the laws where you live. In many places, you need permission before recording other people, such as in calls or meetings. Don’t use Framecap to record content you don’t have the right to copy, or to record people without their consent.

No warranty

Framecap is provided “as is”, without any warranty. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can’t promise it will be free of bugs or that every recording will succeed. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost recordings, lost data or any damages that come from using Framecap.

Changes

We may update Framecap and these terms from time to time. When the terms change, the date at the top of this page changes too. Continuing to use Framecap after a change means you accept the new terms.

Privacy

How Framecap handles your data is explained in the privacy policy. In short: nothing leaves your computer.
